John and I decided that a vacation would not work over memorial weekend--financially, work, etc.--but we still wanted to do something. So we decided to have a Staycation, a vacation staying at home. It turned out to be really fun.

On Friday, both of us worked, then we packed up the baby and headed to the park for a picnic and to feed the ducks. Jacks loved the baby ducks and tried, very unsuccessfully, to pet one. He tried out the swing and loved them, I think we have a park-goer in the making. To finish off the night we watched Valkerie, with Tom Cruise....a-huh! It is a very serious and somber movie, but worth the watch.

Saturday, John and I had a night out, we sent the baby to Grandma and Grandpa Riggs, which he loved, and headed to the Jordan River Temple. We have not been able to go since...I don't even remember. It was wonderful and such a nice break. Then we went to Olive Garden to top things off.

Sunday, we went to church and then dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Andersen's. Jacks loves seeing his cousins, and we had a great time.

Monday, we had a barbeque with the whole fam-damily and came home to watch the Lakers/Nuggets game. (Go Nuggets!) It was a good time and I am sure I ate too much.

I highly recommend Staycations, it made me feel "ready" to hit the week running again. Plus you get to sleep in your own bed. And you don't have to wonder if they
really cleaned the bathtub.
