Father's Day...

Father's Day was so much fun, Jackson was very eager to see John on his day...at least I think because he got up at 6:00 am. Jackson and I made Daddy some yummy breakfast and then he headed off to his church meetings. We made John a cute little frame with Jackson's handprints, it turned out better than I thought! At church Jackson played with Daddy in nursery for awhile and after church we headed off to Grandpa Riggs' home. We had a good time celebrating Father's Day/Birthday for Grandpa and enjoyed being with everyone.

I am so grateful for loving Father figures in my life. Especially my Dad, I love you little skatamat, as Grandma Andersen would say (to be read with a thick Danish accent!) I couldn't ask for a better Dad and friend. Likewise, I couldn't ask for a better husband/Daddy to me and my kids! Thanks for ALL you do!

Little America and Life at a Truck Stop...

We went up to the new attraction, to us at least, Little America Wyoming. Life at a truckstop as Jessica, my sister-in-law, would put it. It was fun to see how things are run and even more fun to spend some quality time with Spencer, Jessica and Boston. It was a fun filled time with hiking, fossil finding, lizard catching, swimming, shotgun shooting, talking, barbequing, touring and church going. It was also Jackson's first road trip, to which he was an A+ champ. He slept almost the whole time both ways!!! Spencer is the new Assistant General Manager up there and we were able to enjoy excellent accomidation in their nice hotel and a in depth tour of their city-like hotel. And yes, Spencer somehow got ahold of a penguin costume which, to my surprise, is the hotel's mascot, go figure.

The Hotel Room
The Rigg's Home
The Desert
The Mascot & Co.
The Boss
The Firefighters
Continue on for more Life at a truck stop fun!!!

Hit...Hit...Miss....

When you have Spencer and John together, inevitably guns will be involved in one way or another. After a fun filled day of fossil hunting, we came to a cliff's edge and shot shotguns. To my surprise, it was fun to see them throw and shatter the clay pigeons.
The backdrop was beautiful. Jackson and I enjoyed the elements from the safe confinds of the truck, as he slept like a baby while the bullets whizzed through the air.
You are see Spencer throwing the clay pigeon and John aiming to shot it, which he did quite often!Just like his Dad, Boston is very into the shooting of guns...and wearing Uncle John's hat. He is so cute.
Spencer's turn, they went through over 100 bullets, which I am told is not a hard thing to do. And yes, for all the inquiring minds, Jessica and I did shot the shotguns too, but only once. And not to toot my own horn, I did hit the clay pigeon...

Pete and Repeat...

It was so fun to see Boston and Jackson interact together! They were so fun to watch and generally got along very well together. Jackson was so into Boston and wanted to play with the toys he played with, eat the foods he ate, and give him hugs. It was actually very funny to pick out pictures of Jackson and Boston as often Jackson was a blurr for moving ALL THE TIME!Here are a few of the fun moments. Playing toys at Spencer and Jessica's, Boston was very good about sharing his toys, there were only a few moments with the struggle of the same toy.
At the desert Boston went up to Jackson in the stroller and pressed his forehead on Jackson. Seizing the oppurtunity Jackson pulled him in for a BIG hug. Boston was not to interested as you can see his running away cringing with Jackson in the background still in the "hug" pose.We went swimming at the Hotel pool. It was very warm and made up for the cooler temperature outside. Jackson loved to watch Boston jump off the side of the pool. We are so glad that these too cute boys hit it off!

Newness...

This month, we have seen a lot of "new" things from Jackson. It is so much fun to see him growing in leaps and bounds. There are so many things he is interested in and even more that we wish he wasn't interested in (the entertainment center, mommy's plants, etc.)
Here are a few highlights.

Playing with balloons, a new favorite.

GIVING kisses, he tries to kiss everyone now, but I like to think that it's a special thing just for mommy!
Funky hairstyles in the bath tub. We have tried this in the past without much success, but now his hair is finally thick and long enough to enjoy in the tub.
Crawling...almost, he is getting up on all fours and trys his darnest to move around. Essentially he just rock back and forth with nowhere but the ground to go to. I know he will get there soon though!?!?!?
